From reality TV stars and supermodels to athletes and politicians, we take a look back at the most engaged public figures on social media. See if your favorite celebrity made the list.

The top 10 celebrities on social ranked by total actions were Kylie Jenner (1.8 billion), Justin Bieber (1.3 billion), Ariana Grande (662 million), Kim Kardashian West (490 million), Kendall Jenner (480 million), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (478 million), Kourtney Kardashian (443 million), Khloe Kardashian (437 million), Vin Diesel (357 million) and Selena Gomez (341 million). Kylie Jenner snagged the number one spot, surpassing her four sisters, but it's pretty telling that half of list all came from the same family!

It was Kendall Jenner who took home bragging rights for the most popular selfie on Instagram with "Victor all up in my selfie," which had more than 1.8 million total actions. Kendall also won the top supermodel on social award, scoring 77% more social engagement than Cara Delevingne, who still garnered an admirable 271 million total actions.

While the Cubs winning the World Series certainly took social by storm with close to 10 million actions, it was soccer players who were responsible for 43% of total social engagement by athletes. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo had a whopping 1.4 billion total actions, followed by fellow players Ronaldinho Gaucho with 154 million and Mesut Ozil with 113 million.

Social media was definitely dominated by the U.S. presidential election this year, with Donald Trump driving nearly 223 million social actions and outperforming Hillary Clinton by 31% across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. But India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the most popular world leader on social with 175 million total actions compared to just 44 million from President Barack Obama.

Animals were fighting like cats and dogs to snag the top spot on social. Doug the Pug came in first with 125 million total actions, followed by Nala Cat with 92 million and Jiff, a Pomeranian, came in third with 42 million. Proving that cute pet pics never get old.

While the Kardashian's continue to rule the social sphere, there were some surprises. It's notable that only two actors made the top 10 list, which was otherwise ruled by reality TV personalities and pop artists. Also, who knew India's Prime Minister and soccer players were such social mavens? Social media has definitely leveled the playing field, demonstrating that you don't need be an international superstar to dominate the web.
